User Role Based Access Restrictions

It's a nice to have feature, but it would be great to be able to give users specific permissions within the account but not others --- i.e. They can deploy to dev and test but not to production servers.   Or certain roles could create new projects but not edit or delete other projects.  I'm sure there are more things that could be done with this, but the main things for me personally would be the ability to have a team member create new projects without editing or deleting other projects --- this would allow my team to setup test and dev deployments but would limit risk with someone deploying to production without the proper permissions.

Maybe for production deployment, there could be something similar to "Merge requests" where you could make a Deployment request to an administrator -- who then can initiate the deployment or approve the deployment request for it to go through.

Anyway just some ideas, I would love to hear if anyone else could benefit from these types of permissions.

Complete We've implemented this suggestion!

  • This might go well with my other suggestion Project Groups if you could limit some permissions based on the project group with regards to deployments.

  • Restricting users to only be able to deploy to certain servers would be very useful. e.g. Senior Devs only can deploy to production

This is actually covered in another suggestion here:
